However if you don't find a position of interest at that time, you can set up a Personal Career Planner (PCP) account and Random House will notify you when a job that fits your interests, experience and background appears.
You can address your cover letter to Human Resources or to Whom It May Concern. It will then be forwarded to the appropriate HR representative for review.
Due to the large volume of submissions, you will get an automatic response letting you know that your resume has successfully been received. Once it is submitted online, your resume will then be reviewed . If there is a match in terms of the specifications and qualifications required, you will be contacted by a representative of the Human Resources department. If you are not selected to interview for the opening to which you applied, you will need to continue to check the website and apply for new positions of interest.
If you have a portfolio or website address that you can send online, that is always helpful. In most cases, you would be asked to drop off a portfolio for review as the first step in the interviewing process if you are invited for an interview.
If you are a match for the position that you applied to, Human Resources will contact you to set up a screening interview.
Once you arrive at our offices , you will be asked to check in. Please make sure you have a picture identification with you. Once you check in, you will be sent up to the Human Resources department and be asked to fill out an application before meeting with your Human Resources representative.
Due to the volume of requests for informational interviews, it is sometimes difficult to accommodate all the requests . The best thing to do is to apply online for the position in which you are truly interested.
Interviews can last for up to 45 minutes to about an hour so please make sure you have time to spend at our offices. In order to make the most of your visit, you may be meeting with more than one person, so please plan your time accordingly
Please make sure to have several copies of your resume with you. Depending on the position you are applying for, you may want to bring writing samples, prior readers' reports or design samples. We will let you know if additional materials are needed prior to your scheduled interview.
We contact everyone we interview. At the end of the process your Human Resources representative will notify you that the position has been filled. Human Resources will stay in contact with you regarding other career opportunities . However, you should continue to check out the website for new opportunities and notify your Human Resources representative via email if something has been posted that you are interested in being considered for.
There are many options to choose from and the paths can vary greatly. There are opportunities to stay within your division, move across functional areas or even move into a different publishing group.
