Verlagsgruppe Random House has a long tradition going back to 1835, when the C. Bertelsmann imprint was founded in Gütersloh, Germany. 

Today, Verlagsgruppe Random House has over 500 employees and is headquartered in Munich with locations in Gütersloh and Cologne. 

It is composed of 25 book publishing houses which release over 175 titles per month. Collectively, they publish fiction books, children’s books, non-fiction books, audio books, and guidebooks. 

Some of their most laudable authors include: António Lobo Antunes, Michael Crichton, Elizabeth George, John Grisham, Stefan Heym, Wladimir Kaminer, Walter Kempowski, Stephen King, Charlotte Link, Frank Schirrmacher and Helmut Schmidt. 

Publishing Houses include renown imprints such as: Goldmann, Heyne, Blessing, Blanvalet, Knaus, Luchterhand, Siedler, btb, and C. Bertelsmann
